I've gone Succulent Mad!!!!!

Last weekend I was able to do the most lovely wedding to which the Bride had informed me that her Groom was "Succulent Mad". It must be catching because this weekend I have another succulent wedding, and I am so excited about the delivery that came yesterday, so excited that I thought that I would give you all a sneak peak and show you how gorgeous they are! Kristen and Matt are going to LOVE these!!!!

Anna & Jordan

Anna and Jordan flew down from the Mines in Wiepa for a gorgeous ceremony at the Sebel. I loved Anna's reaction when I gave her her flowers I believe the words "shut up, I love them" came out of her mouth! Thanks Anna and Jordan! it was alot of fun! Tanya & Scott

The closer that Tanya got to her wedding day the more that she glowed! Really Tanya you were such a delight to work with.
Bouquets like this are alot of fun for florists to do because we don't get to them very often. Tanya wanted something natural looking with rustic orchids and in a rough tear drop shape. They had a very beachy theme and the weather and everything turned out perfectly. I couldn't be more happy for Scott and Tanya!

Thursday is Flower Day

There is great anticipation for me on the Thursday. For me this is the start of wedding prep day! My flowers are all here and getting to their peak so they can be perfect for weddings. I start planning out when I am going to have things completed and what needs to be done first. This is what the Studio is filled with by the end of Thursday. There is hardly room to move!

What's in a Wedding

Just for some fun I thought that I would post for you pics of my wedding journal.
After each wedding I put together an entry about what flowers that I used how many of them I needed and how things went. It's important to me that we improve on all our weddings, that we follow things that went well and change the things that didn't, so I write it all down. All my weddings end up in here, it's a great way of keeping track.

There are alot of things that go into your wedding from your suppliers. I will literally spend hours ordering flowers and working that out with my growers and agents. Sourcing ribbons, feathers and extras. Plus there is the research into what is popular and what is not, different styles and fashions! Flowers are like clothes, flowers and styles go in and out of fashion!

Palates of Port- Port Douglas Carnivale

Each week I get to provide the Audi Centre Cairns with flowers for their showroom.
About two days before Palates of Port ( a fantastic part of Port Douglas Carnivale) Allan (the boss) called me and asked me what flowers I could do for this event. Short notice indeed!!! however on his and my suggestion we came up with something a little fun.
We made the Audi symbol (those famous four linked rings) in flowers. It was alot of fun. My hubbie got involved as well and the finish product we really enjoyed.
We dressed the tables in Candles and Satin, all you have been there will know that Flames of the Forest is one of the regions most unique and gorgeous places to celebrate, anything.
